About Suds Magazine

Welcome to Suds Magazine!

Suds Magazine all started in the Summer of 1999 while enjoying a few beers at the upscale Gordon Biersch Restaurant in Downtown Seattle, WA. After a few fine ales I was questioned by our server if I worked in the industry and I quickly replied that I did and represented Suds Magazine. The title slipped off my tongue so smoothly that the name stuck and now Suds Magazine is my pride and joy!

Unlike a lot of craft beer enthusiasts, I and lived in a craft beer wasteland for most of my life, except for a two year stint in Oregon. Thus, the angle of Suds Magazine has been mostly traveling and enjoying craft beers all over the place.

One of the places I’m most passionate about is The Philippines, where I spent a few years of my childhood as an expatriate. Once a craft beer wasteland, it is emerging as Southeast Asia’s craft beer capital with imported craft beers taking off and a beourgioning microbrew industry appealing to the trendy, young and the affluent in urban areas. Suds Magazine visits The Philippines once a year to keep tabs on the pulse of this developing market.

I also love to attend beer festivals and share my experiences online, showing the not only the beers, but the quality entertainment and camaraderie that one experiences at the events. I’ve been to quite a few festivals including GABF in Denver, The Alaska Beer and Barleywine Festival, Oregon Brewers Festival and numerous others across the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia.

Finally, I also love Gin and Fish Tacos so will occasionally drop a post or two about these as well.

Cheers!!!
