Great read. It’s nice to hear about a (fairly)local pub that has a selection of craft beers. I live in Langley as well. I’m relatively new to craft beer and have been having a great time trying out different brands. I’m often fishing for sturgeon in the Fraser right in front of the Kingfisher. Another pub close to there, Billy Miner, has Backhand of God on tap. I’ve heard plenty of good things about that brew. I haven’t been to either pub yet but plan to try out both this weekend.

Nice article sir. And I notice your shirt. Manila Philippines. Actually I envy you sir because you tried all the finest craft beers in America. Back here in the Philippines, we had limited source of micro craft brews. More power to suds magazine. Keep the beers flowing.

Oh, in that case, I recommend keeping an eye out for Boxing Cat (Shanghai), The Brew (Shanghai), and Great Leap (Beijing) at Beerfest Asia. Visited all three last November. They are brewing the best indigenous-made beer in China. Do not recommend visiting any of the German beer hall franchises in either city.

Hi Gabby, I sent you an email. Try The Distillery on Jupiter in Makati or their location in The Fort. I was at their Eastwood location and they did have 5 different Paulaner beers on the menu. I also visited the Jupiter location and they have a fantastic retail offering. Beers Paradise may also have some, but I haven’t verified that. Definitely check out the Japanese and US craft beers at Beers Paradise, best selection in The Philippines, and maybe all of SE Asia.

Gabby, have you ever gone to Brewerkz (http://www.brewerkz.com/) or Red Dot (http://www.reddotbrewhouse.com.sg/) in Singapore? If not, you should check them out. Red Dot has a spirulina beer that is green!

I’ve been to Paulaner in Bangkok. And when you consider what you pay there compared to Singapore, it’s tough to really enjoy yourself at the latter.

Just wondering if you happen to bump into a pub or wine store in makati or the fort area that offers Paulaner Beers.

Really looking forward to have some… its one of my big reasons why i always go to singapore, just to have some of that beer…

I have not tried any of the local craft beers. Just started appreciating these craft beers recently, and I think I stumbled upon the wealth of information in this site from your comment in En Route. It’s really exciting and I feel like it’s my duty as a citizen here in Manila to spread the word on appreciating beer aside from its alcoholic properties
